500g ground lamb ½ tsp ground black pepper 1 tsp. salt 1 – 2 tbsp. chopped mint 1 small onion chopped 1 tbsp. crushed garlic 1 slice of bread 4 tbsp. feta cheese ¼ cup flour for dusting Oil for shallow frying
Remove crust from the bread, soak in water for few seconds, squeeze out as much water as possible and put it in a bowl.
Take all the ingredients except the oil and flour and put in the bread bowl. Mix well to evenly blend all the ingredients. If time permits, marinate for an hour.
Take some mixture into hand and shape it into small sausages. .
Roll each qofte in the flour to dust.
Heat enough oil in a frying pan for a shallow fry.
Fry the qofte for 5 -6 minutes on medium heat until brown on all sides and are well cooked inside.
Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with rice or pilaf or with some green salad.
